From my daily journal:
4/22/02 Monday-continued
The Renault Laguna needed a fill up at the gas station across the street (It's a diesel w/6 forward speeds!) and we got a map so we'd know our way. We had passed back into France to get the car. We went to the little town of Ferney(Voltaire) looking for a bank to cash in the French francs I'd been given by friends and family. No luck but we had a sausage and lentil lunch at Chez Toni's. He hit on Elaine while I took theirpicture. But I'm keeping an eye on them.
Kidded us about ordering coke with lunch instead of wine. We'd had so much wine for the last five days we had to take a break. They had no ketchup for Elaine either.
We drove around the lake on the north side. The most curious sight was how the hills were terraced with stone wallsand all the grape vines growing there. Miles and miles of them.
All along our trip the wisteria was in bloom.
Next "Sight": Sion, Switzerland
