5/10/02 Friday Skipped breakfast and went to Pitti Palace to see the costume museum and ducal treasures. The treasures were very impressive. Trompe l'oeil in the rooms very cool. Some fantastic inlaid tables which I couldn't get pictures of. The costumes were not as ancient as we'd hoped. 1800'S the earliest. These both closed at 1:30. Now taking a break while we decide what to do next. We got some wax seal stamps and stationary for the kids @ Valentina, via Guicciardini 55 and are at our favorite lunch place again. I snapped some pictures of whole cakes and desserts. Look yummy! We are upstairs this time. I had ham and cheese in pastry crust (pie shaped and hot), pizza with tomato pieces and green olives on top. Elaine had her usual hot dog, a mozzarella and tomato sandwich and we had berry and red Currant? Custard pie dessert. We took the C bus back to Accademia to transfer to the #25. Great bakery and bread & pizza store there. We rode the #25 to the end of the line to the next town. Got off at our stop on the way back. We packed up all our stuff in preparation for leaving tomorrow. Next "Sight": On to Rome
