From my daily journal: Page Five

4/21/02 Sunday
I slept in a little later this morning. Lots of walking yesterday. We went to Ste-Chapelle and had a great tour by Vicki. She was a great actress and gave great drama to the stories she was telling. Then we did the Concierrage next door which was a prison and was where Marie-Antoinette was held. Next we headed to Fontainebleau after we finished our "sausage" and coke -turned out to be a hot dog and a ¤ 6.10 coke. I'd recommend against Les Deux Palais-Brasserie if you have any taste and/or budget. On the way to the Metro stop we happened upon a bird "flea market". There were lots of different kinds of birds including turkey and roosters . Plus rabbits, guinea pigs and chincihillas. Lots of cages and feed. Finally we headed to Versailles. Nice double-decker train ride along the river and suburbs. Have I mentioned Elaine's collecting found buttons. She's up to two. Then we gave Ariah a call. 7:15 am her time. Woke her up. She didn't have much to say. Toured Versailles, found the ¤. .40-a-pee toilet, and took a tram ride through the gardens.

At Bouillon Recine (where we are having dinner) I bought the plate I was eating from for my first souvenir.
